The short version: nothing leaves your device. Ephemeris has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no server. Your puzzles, your results, and your location stay on your iPhone.
Your puzzle results — stars earned, streaks, and nightly records — are stored locally on your device. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.
Ephemeris asks for approximate location permission for one purpose: choosing tonight's constellation from the sky actually above you. The lookup happens entirely on your device. Your location is never stored beyond that calculation, never transmitted, and never shared. If you decline permission, the app simply picks a constellation without your sky and everything else works the same.
Share cards (the emoji star grids) are created on your device and go only where you send them, through the standard iOS share sheet. We never see them.
Ephemeris collects no personal information from anyone, including children. There is nothing to collect, sell, or disclose.
If a future version of Ephemeris ever changes any of the above — for example, optional cross-device sync through your personal iCloud — this policy will be updated first, and the effective date above will change.
